Allira Wilson is one of Australia's most exciting young talents, whose musical approach has been described as 'brave and raw as it is supple and intricate'.
Alliras debut album ‘Rise and Fall’ recently won the Australian Bell Award for Best Jazz Vocal Album 2014 and was recently ABCs Feature Album of the week.

Her music combines jazz harmony with a contemporary edge and a soulful dynamic. Endowed with a powerful voice, her innovative twists and youthful approach revitalize not only the music, but creates a distinctive and fresh sound. Allira Wilson is a graduate of the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts and was the winner of the Melville Toyota Scholorship for 2010. Allira was offered a scholarship to attend the prestigious New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in New York City in 2012.
Allira has been featured on composer Alice Humphries' Album ECILA and the Rick Webster Project as well as recently on Barney McAll and Gian Slaters new album.
She has performed regularly with her own projects as well as Jamie Oehlers' Blowfish, Mace Francis Orchestra, Alice Humphries Ecila and the WA Youth Jazz Orchestra (WAYJO). She represented WAAPA and toured China in 2010 as well as performing at 2010’s Wangarrata Jazz Festival in Victoria. Allira is a member of 'Invenio', a 16 piece vocal ensemble lead by Gian Slater. The group recently toured the East Coast of Australia performing original repertoire and launching the new album Clarion/Whisper. Allira recently performed at the Perth International Jazz Festival and will be touring the East Coast later this year.
