Brisbane maori performing arts group come from different tribes or iwi of Aotearoa, New Zealand.
The groups vision is to uplift theirs, and all indigenous peoples by sharing their unique culture in a positive way and holding fast to our traditions in a modern context so their leaders of
tomorrow will always be prepared.
The retention and the revitalisation of the groups language - Te Reo M?ori is the forefront of our establishment.
Being away from our homeland we find it important to keep ahold of not only our language but the continue to learn their cultural practices, their art form and protocols and traditions that have been passed down from generations before them.
Before your eyes you will witness various disciplines of the performing arts from Aotearoa, New Zealand. An artform that has been practiced since ancient times to help retell our stories and the histories of our people. Inclusive can be of the following... P?whiri ( M?ori Welcome), Karanga (Call), Whaik?rero (Oratory), M?teatea ( Chants), Waiata-?-ringa (Action Song), Poi, T?t?t?rea & T? r?kau Haka (Stick-Games) and The Haka (War Dance).
The group also encourage crowd participation and education.
Available for corporate events, sporting events, private functions, weddings, cruise ship performances and special occasions.
