Sandro Abate was born in 1988; he’s the natural son of an indian-gipsy couple. When he was just one month old, he was adopted by a loving Italian couple living in Rome.
His father, Enrico, is the owner, founder and director of one of the largest and more influential schools of modern music of the Capital(Rome) – CIAC Music School, and soon discovers that his son is a naturally talented musician.
Initially, Sandro starts studying music on the piano, then he studies guitar, and finally, at the age of 6, he approaches the drums, that will be, for a while, the main instrument by which will express his talent and love for music..
At the age of 17 he already plays with various music school bands, and starts teaching drums to kids. He sings and plays the guitar with the local church choir from the age of 12.
When he turned 20 – he met an Aussie girl and then followed her on a one way ticket to Australia, as she returns back to Sydney.
Soon after settling in Australia, he begins to find his way in the Sydney musical scene, playing the drums for several bands.
Moreover, his passion for singing turns into a regular job – Busking for 6 years every single day without fail, playing occasionally at the Convention Centre and James Place Hotel (right in the middle of the city of Adelaide).
His peculiar vocal timbre and unique accent allows him to sing through a huge repertoire of folk – rock songs: harmonies and melodies are enriched by a mediterranean touch and Sandro’s original arrangements for vocal and solo acoustic guitar.
