Weddings

Adelaide String Quartet have over 20 years' experience in the wedding industry and are passionate about providing music that will create a magical touch to your special day.

The groups dedication and service to the wedding industry has been recognised with many awards in the Ceremony Music and Live Entertainment categories of the Australian Bridal Industry Awards for Excellence.

Any part of your wedding will be enhanced by the quartets live sound. Adelaide String Quartet can perform at the ceremony, pre-dinner drinks, reception or any combination of these to add an elegant, romantic and amazing feel for an unforgettable experience.

General format for wedding ceremonies

For civil ceremonies, you can book us for one hour to cover music as guests arrive, the bridal party entrance, signing of the register, and your exit piece as you begin to greet your family and friends. Often couples will book our group for 1 hour 15 minutes so we continue to provide background music as guests come to congratulate you. If you would like music during your official photographs and as guests are enjoying drinks and canapes, you can book our group for 1 hour 30 minutes or as long as you wish.

For the church service component, we recommend you book for 1 hour 15 minutes to cover music as your guests arrive, the bridal party entrance, the 30 minute service, signing of the register and as you and your guests exit the church or chapel.

For weddings which involve a full mass service, our booking time is usually 1 hour 30 minutes to cover music as guests arrive, the bridal party entrance, offertory, communion, signing of the register and as you and your guests exit the church or chapel.

The above booking times are guidelines and the exact length can be varied to suit your requirements and schedule.

Prior to the ceremony

We provide music as guests arrive, which is usually 10-15 minutes prior to the time stated on the invitations.

The ceremony

Music can be played during any or all parts of the ceremony. You may wish to choose music for:-

the processional - one piece as the bridal party walks down the aisle or into the gardens;
the signing of the register - one or two pieces.
the recessional or exit - one piece as the bridal party exit the church or greet family and friends in the gardens.
If you are having a church mass service, we also provide music for the offertory and communion.

We can provide music for hymns, or any other part of the ceremony where requested.

We are flexible and versatile so the exact format and music within the ceremony is tailored to your wedding.

Wedding Receptions

As guests arrive for your wedding reception, we can create a sophisticated and classy atmosphere by providing background music for your pre-dinner drinks. We can also continue to provide entertainment during your reception itself. Our repertoire ranges from classical and romantic music to jazz and modern covers so you and your guests have a wide variety of music to enjoy.

You can engage us for as long as required. It can be as short as 30 minutes for pre-dinner drinks, to 6 hours or longer for the entire reception.
